Little Mix have scored sweet revenge with break-up song Shout Out To My Ex – the single has hit the top of the charts.

The “break-up” track, which has sparked speculation that it is about singer Perrie Edwards’ ex-fiance Zayn Malik, is the group’s fourth number one.

Perrie, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall told OfficialCharts.com: “We want to say a massive thank you for getting us here.

“Everyone can relate to this song. Everyone’s had an ex or a bad relationship and this is a big positive break-up anthem.”

Little Mix, who sparked controversy when they sang the track in skimpy outfits on The X Factor last weekend, have had three previous number one singles – Cannonball, Wings and Black Magic.

The girl group also released the official music video to the hit single this week.

Shout Out To My Ex has gone straight to the top of the Official Singles Chart, knocking James Arthur’s Say You Won’t Let Go into second place.

The Official Charts Company said that only two other tracks have gone straight to the top of the singles chart this year – Zayn’s Pillowtalk and Major Lazer’s Cold Water.

Kings of Leon

In the Official Albums Chart, Kings Of Leon score their fifth UK Number One album with WALLS (We Are Like Love Songs).

The top five in the albums chart is completed by Phil Collins’ The Singles, Tom Chaplin’s The Wave, the re-issue of Oasis album Be Here Now, and Two Door Cinema Club with Gameshow.
