THIS venue was just the right setting for a lively interpretation of this well known musical.

It is a modern day version of the gospels and the characters act out the parables in song and dance.

The dramatic opening had the voice of God echoing across the auditorium. An impressive john the Baptist who also doubled as Judas exhorts the people to give up their everyday lives to follow the instructions in the New Testament.

With a very charismatic Jesus a talented and lively cast and some very dynamic music this was pure entertainment.

Superbly directed by Lin Instone and with some energetic choreography from assistant director and choreographer David McMinn who I believe took on the role of Jesus on the Saturday evening, with Michelle McMinn and also their mother Lynn who took on various tasks this was quite a family show.

The enthusiasm of the followers and the Disciples who were also the soloists made for a great evening of entertainment.

Wyspas has the reputation of a long running group who have produced some fantastic musicals and this was no exception.

I would have liked to have seen a larger audience because of the huge amount of work it took to stage the show and if you missed it you certainly missed a treat.

Look out for future shows from this group as they have a great deal of talent and it shows.
