Following sell-out shows around the country, and a month-long run at London’s Leicester Square Theatre, much-loved comedian and author Ruby Wax will return to the stage again this autumn with her one-woman show, Frazzled.

The “outrageously witty” US-born comedian will take centre stage at Wycombe Swan in October with the show, which promises to give audiences a “tour of the mind”.

Organisers said she will explore a “scientific solution to modern problems” – mindfulness – based on her book, A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled.

The show has received praise from celebrities, including Davina McCall, who said: “I loved A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled. Eloquent and funny and made me laugh out loud.”

Stephen Fry commented: “Ruby Wax has an extraordinary mind, and she has brought it to bear with trademark wit and searing honesty…

“Very few people will be able to read this wonderful contribution to the literature of mental health without recognising some part of themselves, and certainly of someone they know. A ruby beyond price.”

The mental health campaigner graduated from Oxford University four years ago with a Master’s degree in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.

She said: “So far this year I've hugely enjoyed performing my new show “Frazzled” at the Leicester Square Theatre in London and at theatres around the UK. I’m delighted that we’re extending the run this autumn.

“This is your passport to saner living. I might not be sane myself but I do a pretty good imitation.”

Arriving in Britain from the United States in 1977, Ruby started her career with the Royal Shakespeare Company. She went on to write and perform in her own television shows.

Since then, she has campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness about mental health issues, including speaking at Downing Street to raise money for neuroscience research.

She was awarded an OBE for her services to mental health in the Honorary British Awards to Foreign Nationals in 2015.
