1 MAD About Waddesdon Festival. Saturday and Sunday from 10am at Waddesdon Manor. A weekend packed full of live performances, workshops and other activities. The workshops are free of charge and include the Tina-Louise School of Egyptian Dance, Urban Strides, Kobika Dance, The Pantaloons, West End Stage, Just Laughter and Sing Community Choir. Entry to the festival is £25 for families, £10 adults, £5 child. National Trust members and under 5s go free. Also tonight Russell Watson will perform at 8.30pm (£35 for adults, £20 for children) and tomorrow night (Saturday) at 8.30pm Dancing in the Streets (adult £25, £15 children). 2 Beaconsfield Donkey Derby from 12pm-3.30pm at St Mary and All Saints School, Maxwell Road. This popular event is a great day out for the family with donkey racing, Tote betting and a fly past by Thames Valley Air Ambulance Helicopter. There are also stalls and fun and games for children. There will also be plenty of refreshments on offer including a hog roast, BBQ, beer and Pimms. Proceeds go to St Mary's School and Beaconsfield Lions Charities.
3 Thomas Ball Midnight Dream Walk. Get together a group of friends and family to walk through Great Missenden and Prestwood at night time.
All money raised will go to The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund, which will provide free holidays for local children who are suffering from cancer. The six mile route starts from the Great Missenden Memorial Centre in Link Road at 11.30pm. There will be refreshment afterwards. It is £15 to enter. Call 01494 890157.
4 Chesham Open Air Theatre, Saturday at 7.30pm at The Bury, Church Street, Chesham. Also on July 1-7. Three theatre companies are joining forces to host a week of open air theatre. Panda Players are performing Jubilation, celebrating 60 years of British musicals, on June 30, July 2, 4 and 6 at 7.30pm. Chesham Theatre Company presents Sandcastles by Bob Larbey on July 1, 3, 5 and 7 at 7.30pm and Chesham Bois Catholic Players presents Fantastic Mr Fox on June 30, July 1 and 7 at 2pm. 5 Missenden Crafts and Wellbeing Family Fayre at Missenden Abbey on Sunday from 11.30am-4.30pm. There will be a range of crafts, gift and wellbeing stands together with children’s activities that include sand picture making and a craft workshop. Missenden Crafts is a fun day out for all the family, there will be a BBQ and other scrumptious options. The craft fayre is taking place to fundraise for the PACE Centre a children’s disability charity. Admission is free but with door donations appreciated for the PACE Centre.
