AN all-star cast of top musicians takes to the Town Hall tonight as the Wycombe Arts Festival continues to wow the crowds.
The annual Festival of Jazz will see eight of the biggest names in Jazz performing 12 specially commissioned charts from the pen of internationally acknowledged Duke Ellington expert, Tony Faulkner.
The Alan Barnes Octet, which also features top trumpet player Bruce Adams and thrilling trombonist Andy Wood, appears at the Town Hall from 8pm tonight.
Meanwhile, budding ramblers will be able to take a guided walk through the historic West Wycombe Village with the countryside manager of the National Trust, Neil Harris on Saturday.
Festival chairman, John Beaumont said: “These are two wonderful events that really typifies the diversity of the arts festival.
“The jazz event is a wonderful evening - we've got eight brilliant musicians performing in a cabaret style, where people can get up and go to the bar when they like – it's a really great atmosphere with some great music.
“While the guided tour is something specifically arranged with us and is not a National Trust programme, so we're just grateful the trust is backing us and lucky that we have some stunning historical properties.”
Tickets for the Festival of Jazz cost £10 from the Wycombe Swan. The guided walk is free, with the party meeting at the West Wycombe Garden Centre from 2.30pm.
