A town-wide festival comes to Marlow this weekend, with a plethora of arts and community events taking place throughout the week.

‘Love Marlow’ - a sprawling, multi-discipline celebration of life in the town is being held for the first time in the week leading up to Marlow’s big summer party at the Town Regatta weekend starting on June 13.

It kicks off with a coffee morning and talent show for 'the older generation' on Saturday organised by the Methodist Church.

And the fun continues with a kids’ cycle ride on Sunday afternoon, a cocktail night at the Crowne Plaza on Monday, taster activity sessions at Longridge from Monday and a host of musical events at venues throughout Marlow.

These include live music at the Marlow Donkey pub every night from Monday, an open orchestra session on Tuesday night, a night of live music at Cooper’s Coffee on Fieldhouse Lane and an organ and violin recital at St Peter’s Church on Wednesday night.

Community radio station Marlow FM will be broadcasting from Starbucks on the High Street all week, with Marlow reporter Pete Grant appearing live on the Eclectic Light Show on Wednesday afternoon.

The brainchild of Churches Together in Marlow, organisers say they want to tap into the party spirit surrounding Regatta weekend and extend it to celebrate all that is good about Marlow.

Rev Dave Bull from All Saints Church said: "We are getting together all sorts of groups to strengthen relationships in our community, shops business, churches, residents and community groups all joining together all that community spirit.

"We saw it during the floods, during the Olympics and the Jubilee, and we’re trying to make that something we don’t just see on those special occasions but week in week out throughout the year."
