Council staff have released pictures of some of the mess they say was widespread in a Marlow park when a group of travellers moved in last weekend.

Marlow Town Council and Thames Valley Police served an eviction notice to the group with around 12 caravans which took over Seymour Court Recreation Ground in Marlow.

The group departed within two hours of the deadline.

And after mayor Bob Johnson spoke of the “chain of destruction” left behind after they left on Saturday, these pictures show parts of the clean up task facing officers.

One picture shows the gate which councillors say was forced open, breaking the lock.

Trees and foliage were also removed by the group and left by the side of the field.

And council officers say toilet waste could also be seen left on the playing fields near the play area used by children at the two nearby primary schools.
