A man is in hospital with a broken jaw and teeth injuries after a fight near the Regatta celebrations in Marlow last night.

At around 8.30pm an argument took place between two groups in Court Garden House car park off Pound Lane.

A 23-year-old man, who was part of one group, was punched causing him to fall to the ground.

He sustained a broken jaw and injuries to his teeth which required hospital treatment.

He currently remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Police now want to speak to anyone who may have seen the attack, which happened close to the annual Regatta enclosure in Higginson Park.

Thousands of people visited the area throughout the day for the rowing races, picnic spots and funfair.

Investigating officer Det Con Rebekah Tyler, from High Wycombe Force CID, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident in which a young man sustained serious facial injuries.

“I believe the area would have been busy due to people attending the Marlow Town Regatta event nearby, so I would ask that anyone who saw what happened, calls the police as they may have information which can assist with our enquiries.”

Anyone with any information about the incident which may assist the investigation should contact the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
