Investigations are ongoing to discover how a fire started at a luxurious hotel near Marlow at the weekend.
Staff at the popular Danesfield House Hotel and Spa have today thanked firefighters for their “speedy” work and say they are examining how the main hall chimney blaze started.
Bucks Fire and Rescue crews from High Wycombe and Beaconsfield raced to the scene to extinguish the fire in the Medmenham hotel at about 12.15pm on Saturday.
Danesfield House general manager, Anthony Cox, said: “We are investigating the reasons why the chimney fire started at lunchtime on Saturday.
“In the meantime we would like to thank Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service for the speedy response, who contained the fire very quickly, and allowed normal service to resume later that afternoon.
“For all our guests we would like to say thank you for their assistance and understanding on Saturday, and to my team who reacted so quickly and professionally throughout.
“For guests arriving over the next few days the hotel is operating as usual.”
