The mayor joined staff at a Marlow fish and chip shop in wearing something pink to raise cash for charity last week.

Marlow Bottom Fish Bar on Brucewood Parade took part in Breast Cancer Now’s Campaign ‘Wear it Pink’ to raise money towards Breast Cancer Research on Friday, October 23.

And the mayor, Bob Johnson, made an appearance with his wife, Shirley, to show their support for the campaign and enjoy the free fish and chip samples and cakes baked by shop staff.

Owner, Gav Singh said: “Breast cancer has affected people in my family so it is close to home and it affects so many women.”

“I have a wife and a daughter and a mother and they all mean the world to me so if we can do anything to get the message out there then I’m willing to do it.

“It was great having the mayor there too. It’s good having such a down to earth guy in his position.”

Mr Singh said the store had received lots of donations for the cause.

The award winning fish and chip shop took part in last year's fundraiser raising £480 for the charity.
