Community craft market Beccmark will be celebrating its fifth anniversary at Bourne End Library on Saturday, February 13. Food producers, bakers, hobbyists and many more will be selling their goods at the anniversary market, which is usually held on the second Saturday of every month from 10am-1pm.

The Probus Club of Bourne End and Cookham meets on the third Wednesday of each month at The Grovefield House Hotel on Taplow Common Road in Burnham. Members meet at 12:15 and are served a two course meal at around 1pm which is followed by a guest speaker. The annual subscription is £12 and the monthly meeting fee is £19. Families are invited to inventive family history talk ‘A World War One Soldiers Tale’ in Bourne End on Tuesday, February 9. The story of Walter Carter, a man who goes to war in 1915 with the territorial force is told through Facebook and Twitter. The talk begins at 7:45 pm at the Bourne End Community Centre on Wakeman Road and is free of charge.

The Irene Laksine Gallery has officially opened in Cookham and features a range of the French artist’s abstract work, most of which are for sale. The gallery, on Cookham High Street, will be open on Wednesday to Friday from 10 to 4pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 4pm.
