The Marlow Rock Bottom festival will take place on Saturday, June 25. The Echo will headline covering music from The Jam, The Who, Blur and Elvis at Marlow Bottom playing fields. Marlovians will be able to meet some of the town's top businesses at a special event for the Marlow Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, May 14. A total of 12 businesses - from architects to retailers - from the chamber will be at the Garden Room in Liston Hall from 10am to 12pm to chat to residents about what they do. The event is free of charge and Waitrose will be providing free tea and coffee.

The Marlow Players will host its twin town drama group next weekend. Les Baladins de Marly le Roi will perform Noel Coward’s Week-End (originally called Hay fever) at the Bourne End Community Centre on Saturday, May 14 at 8pm. The two groups have been exchanging productions for the last 40 years. Tickets are £12 for adults, £5 for children under 12 and £5 for students up to 19 years. A pop up market made up of artisan food and craft producers will make its way to Marlow on Sunday, May 22 from 11am to 4pm. Upcycled collectibles for the garden and authentic Italian foods are just a couple of stalls that will be on offer at Clayton’s Marlow on Oxford Road.

Marlow Choral Society presents a Teatime Concert of Music by Gabriel Fauré on Saturday May 14 at 3pm in All Saints’ Church, Marlow. They will be singing Fauré’s Requiem and ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’ with organ accompaniment. The Crowne Plaza will host a family fun day to raise money for The Firefighters Charity on Monday, May 30. Firemen will be on the lawn with fire engines and will perform fire demos. R2D2 will be the guest of honour and visitors will also be able to enjoy Live Music, BBQ, bouncy castles, face painting and games on the lawn. Admission is free and the event will start at 12pm.

Taplow Girls Choir will put on a special performance to raise money for Christian Aid. There will be a mixed programme including choral works and instrumental solos on Sunday, May 15 at 7.30pm. Marlow’s CAMEO (come and meet each other) club is desperately seeking volunteers. It aims to provide monthly lunches for the elderly, housebound, disabled and lonely. Marlow & District Horticultural Society will host a plant sale on Saturday, May 21 in Liston Hall from 10:30am to 12pm. The Society’s next talk will be on Tuesday, June 14 in the same venue Edwin Rye will discuss David Austin Roses, their history, varieties, breeding and care.

Marlow Jazz Club will host a number of jazz stars at this year’s Wycombe Music Festival. The Five Star Swing Big Band is just one of the stars on the line up and will take to the stage at the Royal British Legion on Station Road at 8pm on Friday, May 20. Foodies can tickle their tastebuds and meet a celebrity chef while helping to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support at an exclusive dinner on Thursday May 19. The dinner, at Sindhu restaurant at the Macdonald Compleat Angler hotel, will give guests the opportunity to meet chef Atul Kochhar, the first Indian chef to receive a Michelin star.
