A disused pub in Marlow will reopen at the end of the month following a £60,000 makeover.

In December last year Trevor Hunt – who runs the Rising Sun in Hurley – took on the challenge of transforming The Three Horseshoes on the Wycombe Road.

And now the traditional British watering hole will open its doors to the public once again on Friday, May 20 following a complete refurbishment of the building and menu.

Mr Hunt said: “I knew the pub traded well and was confident I could attract even more custom if I gave it a bit of spruce up and refreshed the menus.

“With Enterprise Inn’s help we’re giving the pub a fresh new feel – updating the exterior, signage, toilets, bar and soft furnishings – while keeping some of the old features and character the locals know and love.”

Last year Mr Hunt told the MFP that new high end bars, such Botanist on West Street will be no competition for the Three Horse Shoes once it undergoes a facelift.

The new menu is based on successful dishes at the Rising Sun and boasts traditional British food.

The Three Horseshoes lease was previously owned by the Rebellion Brewery before it was sold to the last manager, Nigel Douglas, in 2006.
