Staff at great Marlow School will take part in the Pretty Muddy race under the team name The Wobbly Warhols to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Christ Church URC on Oxford Road hosted two events over the weekend to raise money for Christian Aid. The Big Brekkie took place on Saturday, May 14 where guests gathered for breakfast to raise money for people living in poverty across the world. And Taplow Girls Choir entertained a packed audience at the church on Sunday under the direction of Gillian Dibden MBE.

Marlow Jazz Club will host a number of jazz stars at this year’s Wycombe Music Festival. The Five Star Swing Big Band is just one of the stars on the line up and will take to the stage at the Royal British Legion on Station Road at 8pm on Friday, May 20. Marlow & District Horticultural Society will host a plant sale on Saturday, May 21 in Liston Hall from 10:30am to 12pm. The Society’s next talk will be on Tuesday, June 14 in the same venue Edwin Rye will discuss David Austin Roses, their history, varieties, breeding and care.

The Crowne Plaza will host a family fun day to raise money for The Firefighters Charity on Monday, May 30. Firemen will be on the lawn with fire engines and will perform fire demos. R2D2 will be the guest of honour and visitors will also be able to enjoy Live Music, BBQ, bouncy castles, face painting and games on the lawn. Admission is free and the event will start at 12pm.

The Marlow Society will host a Forgotten Marlow walk on Sunday, June 12. The group will meet at the Marlow Museum at 2.30pm. This follows up the society’s town walk on Saturday, May 14.
