Some of Marlow’s top businesses collaborated this weekend for the launch of a first time event, aimed at integrating the town’s tradespeople in to the wider community.

Meet Marlow’s Businesses saw 12 companies from the Marlow Chamber of Commerce gather in Liston Hall on Saturday, May 14 to showcase their skills and chat to residents about what they do.

The initiative received a raft of positive feedback from visitors, who say they welcomed the chance to find out more about about the town, and even discovered businesses they did not know existed.

Chamber secretary, Jo Braybrooke, said: “We were very pleased with it. We would have liked to see some more footfall but some people did get some good leads and it made people more aware at what it was about.

“It had the affect we wanted. We were just trying to make people more aware so they can go to local businesses rather than travel further afield for what they need.”

The "meet and greet" event saw a range of businesses take part including retailers and solicitors.

Mrs Braybrooke continued: “We had people saying after that they didn’t know certain businesses were there and now they do.

"Members of the chamber of commerce got to meet other members that they may not get the chance to at business meetings.”

Following the success, the chamber will plan another event which members hope will be bigger than the first.
