A community sports club in Marlow has pledged to help tackle obesity during a six month long initiative in the area.

Marlow Sports Club is promoting a county wide campaign aimed at encouraging people of all ages and abilities to get involved in exercise as part of Get Active, Active Bucks.

This follows the revelation that 60 percent of the population in Bucks are overweight with 21 percent of those being obese or morbidly obese.

From May to October residents will be able to take part in Tai Chi in a chair, Yoga in a chair, Pilates in a chair and walking football at different locations across the county.

The community sport centre on Pound Lane will be hosting Walking Football on Mondays from 6.30pm to 7.15pm.

Tai Chi in a Chair will take place at Stokenchurch Centre on Bartholomew Tipping Way on Mondays at 11am and Yoga in a chair will be at the same venue on Mondays at 12.

Walking Football will also take place at Lane End Playing fields on Mondays at 6.30 to 7.15pm.

Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi sessions will also take place at Marlow Sports Club and Lane End Youth and Community Centre.
