A frozen food store in Marlow kicked of the town’s community festival by holding a free tasting session of some of its new food last week.

Staff welcomed a larger number of guests in to Cook on Spittal Street on Thursday, June 2 who got the chance to taste some of the new summer range as part of Love Marlow Festival.

Store manager, Tom Denny, said: “We were asked to participate in any way we could by the organisers of Love Marlow.

“We don’t have a huge budget but we wanted to try and involve ourselves the best way we can so said we would to a tasting event in store with our summer food.

“It was really successful. We had a higher volume of customers than usual and they seemed to really like the food.”

This was one of the first of a number of events taking place across the town over the next two weeks, which all aim to bring the community closer together and tackle loneliness in the area.

People also enjoyed a craft workshop at Lady Sew & Sew and the daredevil Leap of Faith at Longridge Activity Centre on the first day of the festival.
