A pair of thieves have been jailed for stealing bottles of alcohol from a shop in Henley on Thames back in May.
On May 16 and May 21 this year Robert Dee, 38 and Tomasz Marcinkowksi, 31, entered the Wine Rack in Market Pace and stole the alcohol.
They were charged with theft from a shop on May 22 and both pleaded guilty at Oxford Magistrate’s Court on May 31 and were sentenced on the same day.
Dee was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison and was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
Marcinkowski was sentenced to 20 weeks' imprisonment and was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
Investigating officer PC Charlotte Owen, based at Henley Police Station, said: "I am pleased with the sentences handed out to Dee and Marcinkowski.
"This sends a clear message that shoplifting will not be tolerated, and that offenders will be prosecuted, and could face custodial sentences."
