Celebrity chef, Tom Kerridge, and radio presenter, Chris Evans, rolled into Marlow in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car to greet cheering crowds last night.

The pair were welcomed onto the red carpet in the High Street as part of the launch of Tom's latest project, a Pop-up Picture House in the Old Town Hall.

The famous film car was joined by a James Bond Aston Martin DB5 and the DeLorean from Back to the Future for the premiere.

The former Top Gear presenter joined Tom in chatting to the crowds, who had been waiting in the cold for their arrival.

Audrey Wilson, 88, and her partner Terry Mason, both from Flackwell Heath, were plucked from the crowd by Chris, who invited them both in to the pop-up cinema's special first night showing.

Ms Mason said: “We had a brilliant time. When we went to bed that night we couldn’t sleep because it was so fantastic.

“He is a lovely person. Terry can’t put his breakfast show on quick enough in the mornings so we were determined to see him in person. We waited four hours for him.

“We went into the room, watched a film, had a starter and a main and then some sweets and we left at about five to ten.

“Terry is going to write a letter to Chris to say thank you for such a wonderful night.”

Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc, a Storm Trooper and Darth Vader, Spiderman and the Pink Ladies from Grease were also on the red carpet entertaining crowds before special guests went inside the Assembly Rooms to watch Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Tom said: "It was such a wonderful night and a brilliant atmosphere. It was lovely to see so many Marlow residents having such a great time. It was a great start to the Christmas vibe around town.

"It was such good fun to have my great friend, Chris Evans, meeting everyone in town, and introduce the movie at Pop Up Picture House which is aimed at being a great Marlow Christmas event.”
