A new support group for women recovering from mental health problems has been launched in Marlow.

The Marlow Feel Good Group is run by the mental health charity Buckinghamshire Mind and funded by Paradigm and aims to gives women experiencing mental health difficulties an opportunity to meet like-minded people in an informal setting.

The group offers social activities to people over 18, particularly young women experiencing post-natal depression or social isolation.

It provides a “safe and welcoming” environment where people can meet, support each other, have a focus to the week and develop a sense of community.

There is also a free crèche, provided by Marlow Children’s Centre, for anyone who wants to bring their children with them.

Andrea McCubbin, chief executive at Buckinghamshire Mind, said: “Buckinghamshire Mind understands the challenges people face as they try to regain their self-confidence and continue their recovery from mental health problems.

“Community based peer support groups offer a safe and welcoming place to be yourself, learn from others and make friends.”

The Marlow Peer Support Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 10am to 12pm at Foxes Piece Children’s Centre in Marlow.
