A Marlow gastropub has been named the fifth best in the country.

Chef Tom Kerridge's The Coach, in West Street, came fifth in the annual Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropub Awards, organised by The Morning Advertiser.

The pub, which serves tapas-style food and opened in December 2014, was praised by the judges as being a "rampant success."

They said: "Thanks to Kerridge’s no-reservations policy, the pub is often filled with Marlow’s residents enjoying a pint or watching sports.

"In spirit, the Coach is well and truly a local pub."

It is the second award for The Coach in a year, after earlier earning a Bib Gourmand for "exceptional cuisine at an affordable price" by the Michelin Guide this year.

Celebrity chef Tom took to Twitter to congratulate his team, saying he was "super proud" of their hard work.
