Marlow’s newest festival organised by celebrity chef Tom Kerridge is expected to draw in crowds of more than 10,000 in May, police have warned.

Organisers of Pub in the Park, which is set to run from May 19 to 21 in Higginson Park, are predicting “10 to 12,000 people per day” at the gastro-music event, says Marlow’s top police officer, Sgt Robin Hughes.

The Marlow Free Press first revealed the plans in November last year after Tom and his friend Chris Hughes, from event planning company Brand Events, sat down to discuss his ideas for the town.

The pair have worked together previously on festivals including Taste of London and Chris Evans’ CarFest.

The “laidback summer celebration” in Marlow’s most popular park will feature chef demonstrations, a pop-up champagne bar, shopping village, craft beer and artisan food and drink producers.

The chef will be hosting two special pop-up versions of his Marlow pubs, The Hand & Flowers and The Coach, giving revellers a chance to sample their signature dishes.

Tom is also handpicking a selection of leading chef friends from the area who will be lending a hand to create a summer menu.

After a day of food tasting, a riverside stage is set to feature “award-winning British headline acts” which are still in the process of being confirmed.

Tickets are expected to go on sale at the end of February – visit www.pubintheparkuk.com for more information.
