A popular charity bookshop in Marlow could close after it was announced that they will have to move during improvement works.
Oxfam Bookshop, at 26 High Street, is set to close, with landlords Sorbon Estates saying they are planning to refurbish the premises – and will help the store to find another property.
A regular user of the shop, who did not want to be named, said he was upset that the shop will be closing.
He said: “It is an incredibly popular shop and it will be greatly missed. People in the town need to be aware. The volunteers at the shop are quite upset that they are going to have to leave.”
A spokesman for Sorbon Estates said: “We have plans to carry out improvement and extension works to the property at 26 High Street in Marlow which will require moving the current tenant.
“Until this time, the Oxfam bookstore will remain open for business and we will continue to work with them to find an alternative property in Marlow.”
