A former Marlow mayor looks set to take on the prestigious role once again after being nominated by fellow town councillors.

Cllr Jocelyn Towns, who is currently the deputy mayor, could take over the role from Cllr Bob Johnson in May after being nominated by her colleagues at a council meeting on March 14.

It will be the third time the councillor has taken on the role, having previously served as mayor in 2011 and again in 2012.

Cllr Chris Funnell, who represents the North West ward on the town council, was also nominated to become deputy mayor at the same meeting.

Although the roles have not yet been officially confirmed, the pair were nominated unopposed and supported by fellow councillors.
