A new 111-space car park will be built in Marlow in a bid to ease congestion after plans were given the green light by the district council.

The site of the former Chelton building on Thames Industrial Estate in Fieldhouse Lane will become a temporary car park to relieve the parking problems in that area of the town, as part of a major regeneration plan by Wycombe District Council.

The improvements scheme for the industrial estate was first announced in May last year.

The plans, which were submitted last year, were given the go-ahead by WDC on March 22 and the car park will be used for two years.

As well as the new off-street parking, which will have spaces allocated to different tenants within the business park, controlled on-street parking measures will be introduced to alleviate congestion in the area.
