Marlow's police team could be relocated to the town's football club for up to two years while the station is redeveloped.

The town's police force will be based out of two portable cabins in the grounds of Marlow FC, on Oak Tree Road, if plans submitted to the district council are given the go ahead.

Officers are having to relocate while Marlow Police Station, on Dean Street, is redeveloped into 30 retirement apartments.

Plans to transform the police station were given the green light by Wycombe District Council in December last year and a new police office will be included in the redevelopment.

If the temporary cabins at Marlow FC are allowed to go ahead by Wycombe District Council, they will act as a base for officers from the local neighbourhood team serving Marlow and the surrounding area.

The portable cabins will be set up just minutes away from their current location in a bid to "maintain a presence" in the town, but there will be no front counter or public interface at the temporary facility.

Officers expect the redevelopment of the police station to take around 18 months, but are seeking permission to relocate for up to two years.
