Separate investigations into the tragic death of two people which shocked High Wycombe last year have been delayed.

Petru Pop, 52, was crushed to death in Fraser Road, Booker, in November last year after a pallet of tiles fell on top of him.

A pre-inquest review into Mr Pop’s death was held at Beaconsfield Coroner’s Court today (April 12) where assistant coroner, Alison McCormick, assessed the investigation into Mr Pop’s death so far.

Representative from Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Stephen Faulkner, said it is “difficult to say” when the investigation will be complete, as more witness interviews are due to take place.

Ms McCormick said another date for a pre-inquest review will be set when all lines of enquiry have been investigated by the HSE.

In a separate incident, Janice Swain was driving her VW Beetle along the A404 in September last year- with her teenage daughter, Georgia, and pet dog, Peaches - when they were involved in a three car crash.

18-year-old Georgia survived the crash however 43-year-old Janice’s life support machine was switched off 24-hours later.

A pre-inquest review was also held today (April 12) during which an inquest date was set for June 13 as investigations into the cause of Janice’s death continue.
