A Marlow church has become the first in the country to give people a chance to take a 3D tour of the historic building.

A new member of All Saints Church on The Causeway has carried out a complete 3D scan of the building - including the bell chamber in the spire – so people can take a tour of the church from the comfort of their own home.

The project was carried out by Ben Cottman, from Aerial Film and Photo, which is based in Highfield Park.

As well as taking a detailed look inside the striking building, there are various points dotted around to give people more information on how to connect with the church and anyone with virtual reality goggles can also take a virtual tour.

Dave Bull, team rector, said he believes All Saints is the first church in the country to use the technology, which is only a few months old.

He said: "The church is the only society that exists for the benefit of its non-members. The problem is that most non-members of the church have no idea what goes on inside.

“This new technology allows us to give people a virtual tour of the church to discover some of the exciting things going on inside. It's not a substitute for coming to meet the real people, but we hope it might help a new generation to discover what church has to offer them."
