A charity that will benefit from a donation of £60,000 following a successful brewery open weekend has praised the "incredible" generosity of the community.

More than 5,000 people visited Rebellion Brewery in Marlow Bottom for their biennial charity weekend on July 15 and 16 despite the rain.

Across the weekend, a record amount of £65,000 was raised for healthcare charity Scannappeal, which provides equipment for Bucks hospitals.

Following the official announcement of the money raised, charity director, Lisa Trivett, said: "It was incredible to see so many people from across our community come together to enjoy this fantastic weekend.

"The generosity of the public is incredible and we are truly grateful to everyone for supporting the event. The weekend raised £58k two years ago and to beat that amount is truly amazing.

She also praised the brewery team for their "tireless" efforts to make the weekend a success.

She added: "The money raised is phenomenal and makes a huge difference to all the hospitals across the county. All of our current appeals will receive a £20,000 boost and that is no mean feat.

"Nobody knows when they, or their loved ones might need to be treated but we do know that the equipment we purchase is used every 10 minutes by 1 in 4 of the population. With thanks to Rebellion we will continue to make a difference to our local hospitals”.
