A new outdoor market is set to open in Marlow – with the money raised going back into the community.
Visitors will find a variety of stalls in the farmer’s market selling food ranging from fresh meat and poultry, to artisan pies, breads and cakes.
The market, which has been set up by Transition Town Marlow (TTM) together with the Marlow Cheese Company, will be held on the first Saturday of the month (except January) in the Causeway, and the money raised will fund new projects in the town.
The previous TTM indoor community market raised almost £4,000, which helped fund the community orchard and football goal posts in Seymour Park, improvements to cycle paths and wildflower planting.
There will be a community stall at every market where visitors can find out about activities taking place in the town, how they can get involved and also suggest projects that could further bring the community together and help the environment.
Visitors to the first market on September 2, which will be opened by deputy mayor Chris Funnell, will be entertained by Marlow Town Band.
