A popular cookshop in a historic Marlow town centre building is one step closer to returning to its former glory as a bar and restaurant, as proposals for new signage are submitted to the council.

It comes after the Steamer Trading Cookshop in the former Market Hall, at the top of the High Street, announced it was moving out of the building in June after almost a decade and was looking for a new premises within the town.

Planning bosses at Wycombe District Council gave the go-ahead for the Grade II building to be taken over by pub company Marstons, which is planning to run the new restaurant under The Lost and Found brand.

A planning application for one internally illuminated hanging sign, two non-illuminated brass plaques and 10 non-illuminated vinyl signage has been submitted to Wycombe District Council.

At a Marlow Town Council planning meeting this week, councillors gave their support to the new display, with Cllr Emily West saying: “It’s quite a nice design. I don’t have a problem with it.”
