THERE was an attempted ram-raid on a shop in Micklefield last night.

A dark-coloured Rover was seen repeatedly driving into the Costcutter store, on the junction of Micklefield Road and Buckingham Drive, at around 10.30pm.

Gary Ray, who lives in Micklefield Road and saw the events unfold, said: "I heard a bang and looked out of the window and saw the person reverse a couple more times and then they drove away."

Sarah Clarke, spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said: "It was only an attempted ram-raid. No entry was gained. The Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses."

Any witnesses should call police on 0845 8 505 505 or if they wish to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Could just be a typical Micklefieldian attempting a 3-point turn.

It was not a Micklefieldian, we all know that the place never has any stock, always vertually empty shelves. We'd have ram raided one of the other shops in the area.

Is this the same Rover that overturned on the London Road a couple of Saturday's back??!! If it is perhaps the driver needs to have some driving lessons.

I wonder if this is the same Rover that overturned on the London Road the other Saturday, perhaps it's the Rover version of Herbie - mind of it's own.

It's got to have been BinLanen. Since America have stopped funding him, he can't afford the top end cars any more. And also hiding in the mountains of Afganistan is getting a bit difficult, so what place better than costcutter in Micklefield - no one goes in there so no one can spot him.

ramraiding costcutters... now if that doesn't smack of desperation... just let them in next time, theres nothing of any worth in there in any case...

I forgot to mention that it's not called costcutters anymore, tony managed to lose that franchise a long time ago, not long after he became one of the first in the country to lose the national lottery franchise!
