Firemen prepared for snow
FIREMEN in High Wycombe are on snow alert after the heavy downfall this morning.
The station has a 4x4 vehicle which is better in bad weather than the usual lorries and the specialist driver is on standby.
But crew manager Paul Whigmore is not expecting anything to happen.
Mr Whigmore said: "It is just a case of monitoring the local conditions.
"Our lorries are standard vehicles but our 4X4 can get around in any conditions, but I doubt it will be needed today."

yer and now the snow has gone, so there is nothing to worry about now.
Send the 4x4 north, they probably need it more than we do.

Yet another poor forecast from the Met Office, I wonder if they've read the story about the Little Boy Who Cried Wolf?

All just an excuse for an overtime bonanza - must have been double time for Easter and Bank Holidays?
Not bad for for a few plates of bangers and mash with some card games thrown in.
And yes we know they save lives and do a very dangerous job, but the extras on duty would have been thumb-twiddling for sure this weekend!
Not as cool as the bonanza a while back for the cops in the midst of the High Wycombe terror threat (remember the bottle of lemonade up in the woods, it was fizzing you know!)
