How many shoppers were evacuated? One, two or perhaps all three of them....

Somewhere to be proud of that sells what we want, has doors and has a roof that covers the whole shebang so the shoppers walking in the shopping mall don't get wet when it rains.

The bit by the fountain is NOT covered which means that when it rains anyone arriving by bus gets wet if they want to go to the shops. There are big gaps where the roof does not meet the wall of the car park and water runs down the alley ways by the department store. Quite amazingly the ground level in the complex is lower than the surrounding ground level in Desborough Road which means that water can (and does) flow in!!!!
I would rather walk around in a proper shopping centre with doors, working lifts, electrical systems that do not overheat and shops that actually sell what the people of the town want to buy.
There are too many faults with the current complex. We should be thinking of what comes next....

With the problems of rain coming in between the gaps in the roof and water flowing in perhaps someone should set up business selling wellington boots to the prospective shoppers in the street outside the complex?

But the bus station is supposed to be integrated into the complex where as the railway station is not! You would have thought the boffins who designed the Ł300m complex would have made the roof extend to the main shopping mall!!!!
The only waste of space is the complex itself which is wasting valuable land that could be used to build a proper shopping centre on.

Ivor, I believe people have had this discussion with you time and time again, your idea of what the people of High Wycombe 'need' from a shopping centre is greatly at odds with other people's perceptions. Personally, Eden's shops sell everything I want or need, and, on the odd occasion that I fail to find the items on my list, like lightbulbs or white goods, I go to one of the multitudes of places that sell these items, perhaps slightly out of the town centre.
What you seem to fail to realise is that white goods, sofas, etc, are things that most people do not buy every day. Therefore having a shop which sells these items right in the centre of town would be pointless and a waste of space. There is a Magnet right next to Eden, you don't exactly see it overrun by desperate shoppers trying to buy their new granite surfaces, do you?
I went to Eden after work on Friday, and I was delighted by the number of people in Eden.
I don't know why you are willing Eden to fail, but I think you need to perhaps look at a point of view slightly outside of your own; Eden caters to me perfectly, I am a resident of Wycombe, and therefore I do not appreciate you trying to speak for me, saying that Eden does not sell what the people of Wycombe want.
