THE tastes and sounds of the Caribbean are coming to High Wycombe next month in a free, outdoor entertainment extravaganza.
The Wycombe Community Festival, organised by the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 2nd Generation (SV2G), is now in its third year and aims to celebrate the town's diverse range of cultures.
Visitors will be able to sample traditional cuisine from the Caribbean, Poland and India as well as enjoying a Halal barbecue or a cream tea.
Among the entertainment on the day will be a dazzling display of salsa, tango and hip hop dancers as well as homegrown talent including the Wycombe Steel Orchestra and hopefuls from the Wycombe's Got Talent competition.
Youngsters will also get to enjoy a host of activities including a football tournament, bouncy castle, childrens' craft stalls and face painting.
Jacqueline Roberts, SV2G chairman, said: "This is the only outdoor community event embracing a diverse range of cultures in this area.
"The event will build community cohesion, developing our links with people of different backgrounds and faiths, from the young people to adults."
Entrance to the festival, which is being held at Buckinghamshire New University's Wellesbourne Campus on Saturday, June 28 is free, but funds raised on the day will be donated to The Fire Fighters Charity.
If you would like to get involved in the festival by performing as part of the entertainment line-up or volunteering on the day, contact SV2G on 01494 436269 or 07967 296789.
