APPRENTICE contestant Lee McQueen has won himself a place in the next round, proving himself an expert at selling wedding merchandise.
The two teams were tasked with taking a stall to the National Wedding Show at Birmingham's NEC. The team that made most money would be guaranteed a place in the next round.
The first challenge was to choose the merchandise. Lee's Team Alpha, headed up by colleague Lucinda Ledgerwood, chose a top-priced range of Ian Stuart dresses and a line of sparkly wedding lingerie.
The other team went for a mid-priced dress design and a selection of top quality cakes.
Come the day of the festival, Lee excelled with a direct sales approach. The Princes Risborough lad proved a hit with the ladies with lines such as, "Would you be interested in the thong?
"The thong starts at £14.99. I'm going to have to guess what size you are."
Dress sales, however, were not so good as the designer prices proved to be more than most people's budget.
Fortunately as the day wore on the browsers went home and the dedicated shoppers came back for their dream dress.
The other team garnered decent sales for their mid price dresses, but failed to shift a single cake.
By the end of the day Lee's team had raised a total of £5,752.99, £647.24 of which could be attributed to his natural gift for underwear sales.
The other team mustered a paltry £1,925, securing them a place in Sir Alan's board room.
The show then descended into the usual cat fight, with Sara Dhada bidding farewell to her competitors.
