ARMED robbers stole wallets and handbags from customers at a petrol station in Holtspur.

A cashier at the Esso service station in Oxford Road was threatened with a knife by one of two men who entered the petrol station and demanded money.

The men then threatened customers at the garage before making their getaway.

The incident occurred at 10.45pm on Thursday May 8. Police today issued an appeal for witnesses and descriptions of the two suspects.

The first man is white, slim, about 5ft 8ins tall, in his early twenties and was wearing a dark hooded top with light spots. He had a black scarf concealing his face.

His accomplice was also white, chubby, of similar height and age and was wearing a mask over his face.

Police suspect the incident is linked with another robbery carried out earlier in the evening at the Tesco Express store in Farnham Common.

Det Con Andy Powell-Williams, the officer investigating the robberies, said: "We are particularly keen to speak to a woman who was refuelling a blue Honda Civic at the time the men arrived to commit the Holtspur robbery.

"We think they were travelling in a dark car with lowered suspension. We suspect the car was parked in a road on the left hand side of the service station while the robbery was being committed."

Anyone with information should contact Det Con Powell-Williams on 0845 8 505 505 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
