Fans devastated after play-off loss
WANDERERS' fans were left devastated after their side failed to make the play-off final at Wembley.
Wycombe and Stockport were all-square going into the second-leg, after last week's 1-1 draw.
But Liam Dickenson's first-half goal was enough to beat Paul Lambert's men, despite a second half fight-back.
Danny Allman, 20, who lives in Eastern Dene, Hazlemere, said he expected more from Wycombe this season.
The plumber said: "I am disappointed they didn't qualify automatically, let alone not making the play-off final.
"I am devastated. If I hadn't have won the player of the year award for my team today, I would have been a lot more upset.
"The fact that one of my mates on site comes from Stockport, means he will be giving me grief next week."
Substitute Leon Knight almost grabbed a late equaliser and there was a strong penalty claim in the second-half, but referee Andy D'Urso failed to point to the spot.
But Richard Vere, 21, hopes the Blues will secure promotion next season.
The account and finance student, who is attending the University of Essex, usually goes to all the Wycombe games but was unable to today, because he has an exam on Monday.
The Marlow resident said: "I am disappointed not to go up but to be honest, we did finish seventh, so did we really deserve to go up from there?
"I think the manager has done well in the two years he has been here. He has brought in a good mix of players.
"I presume he will stay next year and we will have a good chance of going up, but we will have to do it automatically, not through the playoffs, as it is always a gamble."

I was there at the game, we really should have one, the decent chances we got we really should have buried in the net. They had one chance and took it, so we now have to turn our attention to next year and get automatically promoted. Cmon U blues!

Lambert should spend less time giving it the big one to the Press all the time like some kind of Premiership Billy Big ****.
He's needs a good slap and should be on his way....

We were robbed of a penalty which could have given us the extra half hour to seal the victory.
Never mind though - I enjoyed almost every second of this match, great attacking footie, Wycombe must have had 80% of ball possession!!
While Stockport relish the result, I wager that not many enjoyed the match itself. Edge of the seat stuff.
As for the final next Monday, “Come on you Rochdale! “
