Nightclub fight - woman in hospital, nine arrested

NINE Buckinghamshire nightclubbers were arrested after a violent fight at an Aylesbury club last night.

A woman in her early twenties from Aylesbury is in the JR2 hospital in Oxford after suffering lacerations to her face at The Lounge Club in Market Square at around 1am.

The five men and three women - all in their late teen and early twenties from High Wycombe and Aylesbury - were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and violent disorder.

Another woman was arrested at Aylesbury police station at midday today.

All nine are currently in police custody but have not been charged.

Chief inspector Dave Gilbert, deputy local police area commander for Aylesbury Vale, said: "Violent or threatening behaviour is unacceptable and police will deal robustly with anyone causing it."

Anyone with information they believe can help the investigation should contact Detective Sergeant Bob Ducker at Aylesbury police station on 08458 505 505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
