THE family of a man who died in a collision with a bus has paid tribute to someone who always made others smile.
David Lawson, 71, died on Sunday after his silver Ford Fiesta van collided with a single decker Carousel bus on the A40 Oxford Road, Gerrards Cross, at around 8.30pm.
Mr Lawson, of Dukes Lane, Gerrards Cross, died at the scene.
His step-son William Heath described Mr Lawson as 'a loving and caring husband' and 'incredible father'.
He said on behalf of the family: "David's kindness, generosity and cheeky charm were apparent throughout his life and he always put others before himself.
"Nothing made him happier than making people laugh and smile, and all that knew him will have a witty tale to tell."
He added: "He was loved by all who met and knew him and will forever be in our hearts."
Mr Lawson leaves wife Lydia, two daughters Sonia and Hermione and three step children James, Jo-Jo and William.
One woman, who was among five passengers on the bus, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Steve Burns, managing director for Carousel Buses Ltd said the company was unable to comment yet due to its ongoing investigation.
Police are appealing for witnesses. If you have any information call PC Daniel Carter on 08458 505 505.
