POLICE officers, a helicopter and sniffer dogs have carried out a detailed search of woodland in High Wycombe.

Patrol cars rushed to an area of woods near Peregrine Business Park, between Gomm Road and Cock Lane at around 1pm this afternoon.

Police have so far refused to comment on the reasons behind the operation, but it is believed they are searching for a man wanted in connection with several crimes.

A similar police search was carried out at The Rye off London Road at lunchtime yesterday.

On being asked whether an after work bevvy was in order the DCI expressed a question regarding a bears toilet habits. Unfortunately one of the Sergeants took this to be a genuine enquiry and undertook a project to find out.
