Hughenden seeks countryside recruits

COUNTRYSIDE lovers with a few hours to spare are being invited to join the National Trust at Hughenden as a volunteer warden.

The charity is looking for people to help them manage the three thousand acres of Chiltern countryside, which surrounds Hughenden Manor - the former home of Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli.

Hughenden's countryside team is keen to recruit wardens to look after its pathways, carry out park maintenance, and get involved with general countryside management.

The countryside team is holding an open day tomorrow for anyone to find out more about the volunteering opportunities available at Hughenden.

During the afternoon visitors will get to meet the team, hear how they work and see the different types of jobs wardens get up to through a series of demonstrations.

The days starts at 2.30pm at the manor and runs until 4pm. To find out more call the estate office on 01494 755 573.
