HIGH Wycombe firefighters were faced with a tricky rescue operation this lunchtime after a toddler got a toilet seat stuck on his head.

The young boy and his mother walked into the station in St Mary Street at around midday asking for help.

Firefighters said the boy, who was about three-years-old, had been playing around with the child's toilet seat when he pulled it over his head, where it got stuck.

Crew members from blue watch used a pair of cutters to remove it. The youngster was then treated to a tour of a fire engine and left the station "happy as Larry".

that is harsh, cutting off a boys head to remove a toilet seat, surely there was an easier way!

I am sure there was another BFP story like this in April where a girl got a seat stuck on her head. These things should come with warnings

Rescuing people & property in distress when others would have you painting the fire station doors?

What has the world come to...?

I am generally impressed by the 'minimalist' & down-to-earth comments from the Fire & Rescue Services spokespersons in these columns, which still seem refreshingly pc-free.

Keep it going.

Many others could learn!

And when you do get around to painting the doors, how's about painting 'Wycombe ' ... forget the stuffy High ... in extremely large letters across the doors to promote the town, just reminding passing visitors where they are?

hmmmmm. I think we need to check the mums of these kids - I think they could be willingly putting their kids into these situations, just so they can go and visit the firemen!

Yes, these bored housewives should be made to paint the fire doors in return for a free oggle.
