THE Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall have arrived at the former home of poet John Milton.

A crowd of around 200 people turned up to see the royal couple.

For more pictures see the bottom of this page.

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla were greeted by a round of applause as they stepped out of their navy-blue Jaguar, before speaking to some of the visitors who had come to line the route.

Their Royal Highnesses were clapped again as they went into the Grade 1-listed building in Deanway, Chalfont St Giles.

They will tour the building for around an hour and meet gardeners, volunteers and supporters of the Milton Cottage Trust.

The pair will also unveil a commemorative plaque and be presented with a limited edition copy of Milton's most famous work, Paradise Lost.
