Crash closes lane on West Wycombe Road
ONE lane of the West Wycombe Road was closed today after a car smash.
The collision, which is believed to have taken place between 3.30pm and 4pm, involved a Landrover Defender, and a smaller red car, of unconfirmed make.
Police and paramedics attended the scene, near to the traffic light controlled junction with Plomer Hill.
Marc Lister, spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said: "There was one male in the 4x4 who was fine. In the smaller car there was a male and female in their mid-to-late 40s.
"The male sustained minor head injuries that were treated and dressed on the scene, and the female had a minor leg injury, also treated at the scene."
He added that no one involved had to be taken to hospital.

at least we know th colour of the car though. but was it red before the crash as well - or just afterwards!?

I may be wrong but I think that you can turn right at those lights even if the filter light is red, [bold]as long as[/bold] the main lights are green. If the main traffic lights had a green arrow pointing ahead then you would have to wait for the filter light.

The right hand lane has its own lights, you can only go when they're green! Seems some people have yet to learn to drive.

If a red light is showing then I believe you should stop.
If others don't believe that, then we may have a reason for so many crashes.

It is not a filter lane at Plomer green junction - it is farther down the road for Downley Hill where you go under the bridge. Plomer Green turning when the light is red - you stop, when it is green you go - SIMPLE AS! the highway code snippet would apply to the other junction previously mentioned. Although no-one looks at the colour of the lights there - they just go for it!

On the 3 occassions I drove towards West Wycombe today there was definitely a filter lane going to Downley at Plomer Hill (in addition to the one going to Downley at The Pastures). Straight on and turn right are controlled separately with arrows - Juggleybear, please note - you only go if the green arrow points in the direction you want to travel.

I beg to differ, kazza. On the 3 occassions I drove towards West Wycombe today there was definitely a filter lane going to Downley at Plomer Hill (in addition to the one going to Downley at The Pastures). Straight on and turn right are controlled separately with arrows - Juggleybear, please note - you only go if the green arrow points in the direction you want to travel.
