A 28-YEAR-OLD woman was threatened by a man with a knife while taking money out of a cashpoint, police said today.

The incident happened at around 11pm on Monday night outside the Tesco store in High Wycombe, and £100 was stolen.

Police today issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Sergeant Mark Stevens on 08458 505 505 or the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

The previous day, a 44-year-old man had a cheek bone broken in an assault in Bird Cage Walk.

The man had his wallet and mobile phone stolen.

Two men have since been arrested and bailed until September 16.

No CCTV footage of the assault? This could have been avoided if the poor woman had been warned about the potential attacker. Maybe by a little box that could have issued a warning like "Please be aware that muggers are operating in the area, but please note that we do not have cameras in this area monitoring the situation. Thank you and have a nice day."

On a more serious note, I sincerly hope the young woman gets over the attack quickly and that the attacker is caught.

It is a sad world when a young woman cannot use a cash machine without being mugged. I really hope they catch the so and so but probably not

Am I the only person who doesn't see the significance of two men being arrested and bailed since September 16th? Didn't both of these crimes happen in the last week?

the TVP website says it is the Loudwater Tesco

"at approximately 11pm, a 28-year-old woman was threatened by a man with a knife as she drew money from a cash point at Tesco in London Road, High Wycombe. The man made off with £100. "

Yet another case of poor reporting by the BFP, wrong location for the Tesco assault and no mention of the two white men arrested for the Birdcage Walk incident and their ages.

The BFP have failed to report that £140,000 has been taken from a local drug dealer following his conviction.

The readers of The Bucks Free Press provide more news coverage than those employed to keep us informed.

REPORTING IS A LOST ART.

what was she doing alone at 11pm - whether it be tesco loudwater or tesco town centre - I for one would be wary of using a cash machine at 11am on my own!!!

I agree, it's not exactly the time of night to be withdrawing £100 from a cashpoint, when you are on your own.

However, I hope the poor lady will be Ok, and at the end of the day why can't a woman take money out of a cashpoint at any time of day without the fear of some scumbag t****r thinking he has a right to her money.

Hope he is locked up
