HIGH Wycombe's own Dusty Springfield is back home after three months in the Las Vegas limelight - but isn't packing away the blonde wig yet as she prepares for a UK tour.
Katy Setterfield from Geralds Road, Terriers, appeared as her idol at the Imperial Palace Hotel as part of the world-famous Legends show from May to August after winning the BBC show The One and Only.
The 37-year-old Chalfont St Peter born singer dazzled American audiences with her performances as the peroxide blonde star, but admitted she was a little nervous they would not know Dusty and her music.
She said: "I was worried about whether anybody would want to remember Dusty."The British public, we all love Dusty, she's an institution.
"But I didn't have to worry because on the first night after I sang You Don't Have To Say You Love Me a lot of people were in tears, and a lot of people came up afterwards and said 'I remember Dusty, I forgot those songs'."
And the Legends organisers were so bowled over by her performance she has been asked to appear in the show again next year.
Katy added: "As long as I'm not too busy, I'd love to do it. The job itself was so enjoyable, it was absolutely fantastic.
"The whole landscape of Vegas, it's just an amazing place. I'm completely broke because the shopping was phenomenal!"
Katy touched down from the US on Monday but has not had a chance to rest her voice as she has been recording a CD of Dusty hits to accompany her three month tour, which kicks off next Saturday in Great Yarmouth.
And south Bucks fans of the singing sensation will get the chance to see her on home turf when she appears at the Wycombe Swan on October 16.
Katy said: "It's a huge tour so it's going to be very tiring but I'm so excited and I'm so excited about coming to my beloved Buckinghamshire.
"I'm just so excited about the Wycombe show more than any. To walk out on my home stage I think it's going to be quite emotional."
