A BOGUS charity worker has been going door-to-door pretending to collect money for the South Bucks Hospice.
The charity, which raises funds for terminally-ill patients, said today they had received reports of a man knocking on doors in Downley and West Wycombe Road claiming to collect for them.
The man has been described as an Asian youth, but no further information on his appearance or build is available.
Tony Hardware, the hospice's chief executive, said: "We don't conduct door-to-door cash collections at this time.
"He's got ID, which he's created himself, and we would ask householders to scrutinise ID of any collector who purports to be collecting on our behalf.
"We rely on people donating directly to us."
Mr Hardware said the man was also seen collecting in Shaftesbury Road late yesterday afternoon.
The hospice, which is based in Amersham Road, High Wycombe, has reported the incident to police.
