Lido parking chaos: Fines from July 22 - 31 to be cancelled
THE leisure company running the Wycome Rye Lido has announced it will be dropping all parking fines issued between July 22 and July 31 after furious motorists flooded them with complaints.
Fusion Lifestyle, which began running the car park in 2011 when it took over the pool, has apologised for the wrongly issued fines and today said that these car park users could expect a ‘communication’ in the coming week to confirm the charges will be dropped.
The BFP has been inundated with complaints from seething drivers who received penalty notices threatening £150 fines after parking machines displayed notices saying they did not have to pay to park there until August.
It is understood that hundreds of outraged car park-users have queried these fines.
A statement released by Fusion today said: “Fusion Lifestyle would like to offer our apologies to customers for any distress or annoyance caused by the receipt of charges for parking at Wycombe Rye Lido between the 22nd and 31st of July 2013.
“We have been working with our car park management company to remove all of the charges for this period and everyone impacted will receive a communication from them confirming this during the week. The parking machines are now operating as per the advised tariffs."
The lido changed its car park to operate a camera controlled numberplate recognition system, with amended charges, that is now operated by a contracted firm.
