A PURSE was stolen from a woman in her 60s after she was approached by three people yesterday in Bourne End’s Parade.
At around 11am the 62-year-old woman was in the fruit market on The Parade and was approached by a man with a map. A second man joined the first man and asked the victim questions.
Before leaving, the first man kissed the victim on the hand. As the pair left, they were joined by a woman.
Officers say they stole a black leather purse and its contents.
The first man is described as white, with a skinny build and around 5ft 6ins tall. He was wearing a dark grey jacket.
The second man is described as white, of medium build and around 5ft 11ins tall. He was wearing dark glasses and a jacket.
The woman is described as white, wearing a dark jacket, a red scarf and leggings.
PC John Phipps from High Wycombe police station said: “It is possible that the victim was followed by this group as she left the bank, and she walked with her purse in her hand before placing it in her bag.
“Please can I remind all shoppers to be extra vigilant, not to be drawn in and easily distracted by others and to keep a close eye on their belongings.”
